Adding their endorsements to the growing local support for Republican Ted Howze’s campaign for Congress are three former Turlock City Councilmembers: Kurt Spycher, Bill DeHart, and Kurt VanderWeide.
In his endorsement former Councilman VanderWeide wrote that Howze is a “public servant in the truest sense, dedicated to your constituents.”
Former Councilman Spycher noted, “I’ve watched Ted take a vision of more high paying jobs regionally and turn it into reality of the Turlock Regional Industrial Park…More importantly, I’ve quietly observed a man who dedicates himself selflessly to the youth of our community as a mentor, a coach, and a community leader.”
These endorsements come just after Ted Howze received support last week from Back the Badge California, an organization supporting local enforcement officers and their families.
Background: Dr. Ted Howze is a lifelong resident of the Central Valley and former Turlock Councilmember. Ted grew up on a farm south of Fresno where he developed a love for our valley, became conversational in Spanish, and worked in the fields through college. He’s worked for the past 24 years as a Large Animal Veterinarian. He is the proud father of three sons and has developed a number of successful businesses, including one of the first local dot.com companies.
In 2013, Ted’s wife Sharon passed away suddenly due to an undiagnosed heart condition that could have been treated. That experience drew Ted’s focus to a healthcare system that consistently puts profiteering ahead of the health of patients. He recently married Laura, a math teacher and student activities director for a local high school.
At the end of the recent first quarter campaign finance reporting period, Ted Howze for Congress reported more than $320,000 cash-on-hand.
