Turlock, CA – The Ted Howze for Congress campaign announced an endorsement by well-known local developmental disabilities advocate Mohamed Rashid. Rashid serves as the Assistant to the Director of Vocational Development at the Vocational Coaching and Development Institute.
Mohamed is a beloved local advocate for people with developmental disabilities and was inspired to pursue his career-field by Ted’s late wife Sharon.
Howze noted, “Mohamed’s endorsement is particularly cherished knowing his values and devotion to serving others was so directly impacted by members of my own family. His support personally means a lot.”
Background: Dr. Ted Howze is a lifelong resident of the Central Valley and former Turlock Councilmember. Ted grew up on a farm south of Fresno where he developed a love for our valley, became conversational in Spanish, and worked in the fields through college. He’s worked for the past 24 years as a Large Animal Veterinarian. He is the proud father of three sons and has developed a number of successful businesses, including one of the first local dot.com companies.
In 2013, Ted’s first wife Sharon passed away suddenly due to an undiagnosed heart condition that could have been treated. That experience drew Ted’s focus to a healthcare system that consistently puts profiteering ahead of the health of patients. Recently married to his second wife Laura, a Catholic High School teacher, both have dedicated themselves to critically reforming healthcare for all Americans.
