Dr. Ted Howze is lifelong resident of the Central Valley and current resident of Turlock. Ted grew up on a farm south of Fresno where he developed a love for the Valley, agriculture and animals.
He attended the University of California at Davis where he received degrees in Exercise Physiology in 1990 and graduated from Veterinary School in 1994. After graduation he moved back to the San Joaquin Valley where he’s worked for the past 24 years as a Large Animal Veterinarian, and as a high school football coach.
Community service has been important to Ted throughout his adult life, he previously served the community of Turlock as a Planning Commissioner, City Councilman, and Vice-Mayor.
During his service, Turlock was recognized nationally for both its smart growth and financial stability during one of the greatest financial crises in history. Ted’s signature project, Turlock’s Regional Industrial Park, has created hundreds of new high-paying jobs for the region from employers like Blue Diamond Growers, Valley Milk, Hilmar Cheese, US Cold Storage, Sensient Foods, Foster Farms and Cozy Shack.
His proudest accomplishment is being the father of three sons – two earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Ted’s wife Laura is a math teacher and Student activities director at a local Catholic High School.
