America’s Founding Fathers knew a simple truth, which is no person can protect their rights with words and good wishes alone. They clearly understood evil exists in this world, and that governments slowly become corrupt over time, ultimately infringing on the rights of their citizens.
They understood that a strong 2nd Amendment was the only way to protect our freedom from tyranny, either foreign or domestic. Their words reflected their beliefs which were based on experience.
Thomas Jefferson asked “What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.”
Benjamin Franklin famously said, “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
Gun banners have existed almost as long as the gun. What modern anti-gun enthusiasts don’t want you to understand is history, because history is full of examples proving our Founders brilliance.
“All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party.”
– Mao ZeDong (Killed 75 million)
“One man with a gun can control 100 without one.”
- Vladimir Lenin (Unknown Millions)
“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subjugated races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subjugated races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let’s not have any native militia or native police.”
- Adolf Hitler (Killed 20 million)
If you study history you’ll understand why our Founders thought gun ownership was so important as to be our second “Right” only behind the Freedom of speech. “Shall not be infringed” was meant to ensure the people outlast any government meaning to usurp our rights!
